The four-day Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2019) kicked off Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Quectel Wireless Solutions showcased its new technological innovations at this annual event, which are bound to bring a brand-new connectivity experience for years to come.
With 5G commercialization starting in 2019, Quectel has rolled out EM20, an LTE Advanced Category 20 module ahead of the show, which offers the maximum LTE throughput of 2.0Gbps Downlink and is optimized specially for Laptop, PC and high-speed industrial IoT applications. This high-speed module is compatible with Quectel’s broad portfolio of LTE-Advanced products including Cat 12 module EM12 and future 5G module, allowing for smooth migration between different categories and to next-generation connectivity.
Low-power, wide-area technologies are also critical for massive IoT, and Quectel is joining force with heavyweight partners to make these technologies available to global customers. At CES, Quectel demonstrated its latest LPWA modules based on Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem. Compliant with 3GPP R14 specification, the new multimode BG95 and BG77 modules support Cat M1, Cat NB2, EGPRS (only for BG95) with integrated GNSS capability, and offer optimized features including compact design, ultra-low power consumption, higher data rate and cost efficiency.
In addition, Quectel boasts a rich product line of automotive-grade modules covering C-V2X, LTE Cat 4 and Cat 6 connectivity, which will drive the intelligent, autonomous and efficient vehicles for the smart cities of tomorrow. One eye-catching product is the C-V2X AG15 module featuring Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X chipset solution, which is manufactured in accordance to IATF 16949:2016 quality management system standard for the automotive sector, and fully complies with the automotive product quality processes, including APQP and PPAP. Pairing with the Quectel automotive grade LTE module AG35, Quectel’s AG15 is designed to meet the telematics and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) connectivity requirements of the next-generation automotive applications, such as autonomous driving and road safety.
Quectel has been focusing on cellular modules for more than eight years and boasts a broad portfolio of IoT modules covering LTE, LTE-A, LPWA, 3G, 2G and GNSS technologies. The company has built up a global sales and technical support network with objective of offering support as close as possible to the end users. Currently, Quectel modules are running steadily in numerous devices worldwide to solve IoT challenges in various fields, which are changing the way we live, work and play.
