Reports reveal that in fight of depression, professor Zhang Shoucheng who was the founder of blockchain VC firm Danhua Capital died at 55. Besides, an award-winning professor of physics at Standford University, Zhang was also a founding chairman of Danhua Capital.
As per the Chinese report, Zhang had attended the meeting a day before incident which has happened on December 01, 2018. However, the cause of death is not released yet but the family has reported that he was suffering from depression for a long time but the local police closed the case by declaring it ‘a suicide’.
Danhua Capital and Blockchain Projects
It is a venture capital firm which is based in California and assisting tech startups through funding in their early stages. Danhua Capital was established in the year 2013 with an array of ideas including big data, AI, robotics, virtual reality and more. Within a less span of time, the firm appeared to be among the names of major blockchain projects such as Zilliqua, NEO, Aelf, and Ontology.
Moreover, in Mid 2018, DHVC has also tied up with OPEN Platform which claimed to be the first decentralized payment gateway for applications and online transactions powered by blockchain technology. Moreover, in the latest report TRON joined the hands of blockchain portfolio app, Blockfolio which has received the funding from major VCs including Zhang’s Danhua Capital.
TRON (TRX) founder, Justin Sun expressed a sense of grief posting that “Professor’s death – a great loss to the blockchain industry”.
