GTI Summit 2019, which was held during MWC Barcelona 2019 with the theme of “5G, Closer than Ever”, unveiled 5G 2.6GHz end-to-end products across network infrastructure, chipset, module, devices and test equipment, taking the lead in substantially accelerating the industrial maturity for a timely and scalable 5G commercialization.
Quectel’s two 5G modules RG500Q and RM500Q were among the debuted 5G products as one of the industry’s first 5G modules.
Featuring Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X55 modem, the two 5G modules RG500Q and RM500Q are compliant with 3GPP Release 15 specifications and capable of both 5G standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes of operation. Both modules also support LTE-A network and GNSS and are ideal for enterprise and mobile broadband applications such as fixed wireless access, mobile hotspot devices, and public safety and surveillance applications. Commercial samples will be available in 2019.
Quectel has been proactively and closely cooperating with global operators, Qualcomm Technologies and other ecosystem participants in making 5G New Radio (NR) a commercial reality. Last year, Quectel joined hands with GTI, China Mobile and other partners and jointly launched the GTI 5G S-Module White Paper, which defined the standardization of 5G S-Module, including the basic functions, hardware technical requirements, electrical interface, test and certification to promote 5G development.
With 5G on the horizon, Quectel will continue enhancing collaboration with GTI, CMCC, Qualcomm and partners along the IoT value chain to accelerate 5G commercialization.
