Leading the blockchain conversations taking place at SXSW

If you are involved in the tech world, chances are you have heard of SXSW, the week-long conference and series of festivals hosted in the city of Austin, Texas. What started as a local music festival in 1987 has become throughout the years one of the world’s biggest gatherings of creative professionals across the board.

Whether it’s a filmmaking workshop, a backyard concert showcasing new artists or an interactive lounge with VR stations, SXSW offers something for each attendee. And while the music and film festival have long been considered staples of the event, in the last decade or so the SXSW Interactive Festival portion of the conference has continued to expand and brings in a plethora of brands, tech companies and start-ups showcasing the latest trends and products in the technology space.

The 2019 line-up is as expansive and diverse as ever and the latest addition this year is a new Blockchain & Cryptocurrency track that’s bringing to Texas some of the biggest players in the blockchain space. With the momentum that blockchain technology is seeing, it’s no surprise that the organizers have created and given space to a track around distributed ledger technology.

The SXSW website offers a neat tool for you to build your schedule and not miss out on must-see sessions, panels or networking events. IBM Blockchain is also going to be at the event with six sessions that will explore how blockchain is already transforming many industries including finance, advertising and music.
