Quectel Modules Have Enabled More than 100 Million IoT Connections

Quectel Wireless Solutions announced recently that the company’s IoT modules have enabled more than 100 million IoT connections by June 2018.

The announcement was made at Quectel’s QIoT Summit 2019 in Shenzhen which gathered over 1000 attendees from the IoT ecosystem including MNOs, chipset makers, customers, China NB-IoT Industry Alliance and other partners.

As the fastest growing module vendor, Quectel has been focusing on wireless and GNSS modules since its establishment in 2010. Now the company provides the broadest module portfolio in the industry covering 5G, LTE-A, LTE, NB-IoT/LTE-M, C-V2X, Android Smart, 3G, 2G and GNSS modules, which could better satisfy diversified demands from the fragmented IoT market.

In recent years, Quectel is always the first mover in launching new technologies such as 5G, NB-IoT, C-V2X, LTE-A and AI, with the aim to keep customers and partners on top of industry innovations and grasp market opportunities as early. While for those mature product lines like 4G, 3G and 2G, Quectel has also been offering new modules to satisfy specific requirements from various segments.

At the Summit, Quectel introduced a series of new modules including:

• The pioneering 5G modules RG500Q/RG510Q and RM500Q/RM510Q featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which support both NSA and SA mode and will be commercially available in 2019;
• Automotive-grade C-V2X module AG15 supporting 3GPP R14 C-V2X PC5, and LTE/C-V2X dual-mode module AG520R;
• New family of LPWA modules such as LTE Cat M1/NB2/EGPRS/GNSS module BG95 and LTE Cat M1/NB2/ GNSS module BG77, as well as NB-IoT/GPRS module BC97;
• New Android Smart module SC600Y and SC600T both based on Qualcomm octa-core and 64-bit high-performance processors with built-in Adreno 506 GPU.
