Quectel Wireless Solutions attended MWC Los Angeles, one of the newest and fastest growing mobile technology events in the U.S., and showcased the latest updates on its 5G, LTE-A/LTE, automotive, NB-IoT/LTE-M and GNSS modules.
With 5G becoming the leading global mobile technology, it will enable inspiring advancements in connected technology, which will heavily impact the IoT, automotive and mobile fields.
As one of the first industry influencers, Quectel’s 5G cellular modules, supporting both 5G sub-6GHz and mmWave bands, have been chosen by more than 100 OEMs covering various vertical industries worldwide for their development and design-ins of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and fixed wireless access (FWA) uses such as CPE, gateways, ACPC as well as live streaming of ultra-high definition videos.
Quectel’s two sub-6GHz modules RG500Q/RM500Q are currently in the engineering sample stage providing vastly responsive and robust connectivity. In addition, the company’s mmWave modules have also made great progress with the RM510Q-GL module completing the industry’s first 5G data call in September, which highlights Quectel’s crucial position in 5G technology commercialization.
From connected cars to autonomous driving, the auto sector is always at the forefront of Intelligent Connectivity. Quectel owns a rich portfolio of automotive grade modules including C-V2X module AG15 and the AG520R module supporting up to LTE Cat 19 and optional C-V2X capabilities. Meanwhile, the company is also developing automotive grade 5G + C-V2X module AG550Q, which supports sub-6GHz and integrates C-V2X and GNSS and will be used in smart vehicles and intelligent traffic, such as telematics boxes (T-Box), telematics control units (TCU), advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), C-V2X (V2V, V2I, V2P) systems, on-board units (OBU) and roadside units (RSU).
At the show, we also exhibited the new All-in-One multi-mode family of LPWA modules BG95/BG77, which feature Qualcomm 9205 chipsets and support Cat M1, Cat NB2, EGPRS (for BG95 series only) as well as integrated GNSS. Featuring low power consumption, these LPWA modules will help enable battery critical sensor applications such as smart city, wearables, smart metering, smart parking and so on.
